Public health as a translational science

Connecting systems to public health action.

At Ygeia, we partner with mission-driven institutions to strengthen health systems and preparedness, and connect disease surveillance systems to public health action.

Ygeia in brief

Ygeia is a global-health and biosecurity practice. We work with governments, multilateral bodies, research institutions and mission-driven companies on the part of the problem that sits between a scientific result and a decision someone has to make.

Our engagements are small in number and long in horizon. We embed in the systems our partners already run, so that what we design with them keeps working after we step back.

From design to policy

Every engagement moves through the same sequence, and rarely in a straight line — evidence from one stage sends us back to sharpen the one before it.

  1. Design
  2. Translation
  3. Reiteration
  4. Evaluation
  5. Scale
  6. Policy

Where we focus

We believe in data powered public health action and equitable access to health technologies and countermeasures — and we concentrate our work in four connected areas.

  • Biological Threat Detection and Disease Surveillance
  • Access and Benefit Sharing in Pathogen Genomics
  • Response and Early Action
  • Policy and Scale

Let's connect data to action

We collaborate with innovative teams across biotech, academia, and the public sector.
